Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organised by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favourite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes!
On this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team!
But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 120 hours!

SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the blue team, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by April 8, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Kristi Helvig is a Ph.D. clinical psychologist turned sci-fi/fantasy author. Her debut sci-fi BURN OUT, (Egmont USA/Lerner Publishing), called “a scorching series opener not to be missed” by Kirkus Reviews, follows one of Earth’s last survivors when our sun unexpectedly burns out early. Kristi resides in sunny Colorado with her hubby, two kiddos, and their behaviorally-challenged dogs.

Victims and Vitamins
I watch her walking home from behind one of the trees. A stupid smile is plastered across her face, but she won’t be smiling for long. She’s not as obvious as most in her attire because of the uniform, but it didn’t take me long to mark her. I’ve been studying her for only a day and her weakness is evident. In fact, I think this one will be most useful in my mission.
Sadly, I have but a week in London before I will be missed back home but I’ve had quite a productive day. My first victim died just this morning but it was almost too easy. He was no match for me, but alas, his wings tore in the process and I cannot use them as intended. Fortunately, there will be many, many more victims to come in the days ahead and I will need every ounce of strength to carry out my task.
Good thing I take my daily vitamins.
