It has been a while since I have written anything. I think that is due to a lot of changes in my life and lifestyle. My husband and I on a lookout for a house, my toddler is climbing on every chair in the building, and I’ve caught more colds this year than I have in the past decade. So, I think taking the time to recuperate was needed to clear my head. Even as I’m writing this, I have a stuffy nose and my eyeballs hurt just looking at the bright laptop screen.
I am unsure how other authors do it, but I can’t write in a noisy environment or when I am too tired to think. I applaud those who can get up at 5AM to write even a thousand words before their kids start their day. Honestly, I don’t want to let the characters down as much as I don’t want to leave the readers hanging for too long. This has been weighing on my mind for months. I think my situation is what authors call a ‘slump’ or ‘writers block’.
For any readers who are reading ‘The Cursed Princess’ on Radish Fiction, I wanted to say that I want to complete the novel first before posting the rest of it. I am currently about 110,000 words into it, which is approx. 20,000 words off from the ending. Wish me luck as editing that beast of a novel will take an equally long while. Also, apologies for not posting an update for a long time. As I’ve mentioned before, I have been unwell and too tired to get much work done.
As always, I am thankful for everyone’s patience and hope you are all doing well.
Lots of love,
May
